General Information

Architectural Salvage of Greensboro

The Architectural Salvage of Greensboro (ASG) retail showroom contains fascinating merchandise including vintage claw foot tubs, old sinks, brass hardware, doors, windows, shutters, pressed metal ceilings, hardwood flooring, columns, stair railings, bath and sink hardware, chandeliers, and wall light fixtures recycled from historic homes and buildings throughout North Carolina’s Piedmont. We do not have a complete inventory of our constantly changing stock. Please call 336-389-9118 Friday from 10-6 or Saturday from 9-3 to check on specific materials.

Volunteer S.W.A.T. (Saving Worn Architectural Treasures) teams, supervised by volunteer professionals, carefully retrieve vintage materials from buildings. Donors may claim a tax deduction for charitable contributions. We are not in a position to purchase materials. Salvaged materials are lightly cleaned and prepared for re-sale at the showroom. Cited in Preservation magazine and The Chronicle of Philanthropy as a national model for innovative programming, ASG has contributed to historic preservation initiates throughout North Carolina as a source for “Old House Parts.”

In salvaging homes slated for renovation or demolition, ASG has orchestrated hundreds of volunteer hours annually and saved more than 20 tons of vintage materials from city landfills each year. This saves the community in terms of disposal costs and extends the lifespan of existing architectural elements that are reinvested into homes and structures through community preservation efforts.

Today, ASG serves as a resource for builders, preservationists, designers, architects, and people who love cool things across the country.
