Historic Resources Group

Established in 1989, Historic Resources Group (HRG) is a leading firm devoted solely to historic preservation planning, historic architecture consulting, and development services for historic resources in California. HRG staff includes historic architects, architectural historians, historians, and urban planners. All HRG professional staff meet or exceed the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards. HRG has decades of experience providing architectural consulting and compliance consultations for both large- and small-scale development projects involving historic resources. These include adaptive reuse of historic buildings, federal rehabilitation tax credit projects, and compatibility issues for government agencies, institutions, and commercial and private property owners. The firm has extensive experience in environmental review of cultural resources; and advising clients during all phases of rehabilitation projects on compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards and the California Historical Building Code. A particular area of focus is historic resources evaluations, including the development of historic contexts, historic resources surveys, and designation of properties throughout California at the federal, state, and local levels.
